Viridian Solar 4.5kWp Installed in June 2016
This customer in Wakefield saw their property needing a new roof as an opportunity. Leeds Solar worked closely with their roofer to design and install this 4.5kWp Viridian solar system. The 3 rows of Viridian PV16 all-black roof-integrated panels replaced costly slate that would have otherwise been bought to cover the roof, whilst providing a large portion of the homes energy requirements.
Using 3d analysis we predicted significant shading from the chimney and specified an ABB inverter with excellent peak tracking to minimise shading losses.
A 3.5kWp system installed in September 2016 in Bradford
This discerning homeowner chose Romag’s UK manufactured black panels for their excellent aesthetics. The panels on the lower roof have been integrated to minimise their visual impact.
We paired the panels with a SofarSolar 3000TLM inverter installed in the garage. It’s out of the way, but with wifi monitoring can be checked as easily as opening up the app.

Advantages…
Protects the aesthetic appeal and value of your house.
Saves on roof material costs on new build and reroofing projects, where it can be cheaper than Welsh slate, Yorkshire stone, clay pantile etc.
No risk from pigeon nesting.
Disadvantages…
Higher cost then above roof panels.
Lower wattage panels.
Beware of…
Cheaper options that use plastic trays behind normal panels, as the plastic is not fire retarded, and risks turning your roof into a flaming torch in a fire.
